Sensorless Speed and Flux Regulation of Induction Motors: a Sliding Mode Approach

چکیده

A novel sliding mode observer for current-based sensorless speed control of induction motors is presented in this paper. The control objective is to guarantee asymptotic tracking of prespecified speed and rotor flux references without mechanical sensors. To this end, an adaptive sliding mode speed and flux observer is introduced: it is based on a different and original approach with respect to the widely used equivalent control techniques. As regards the control algorithm, the problem of chattering, typical of sliding mode controllers, is overcome since the derivative of the stator currents are used as discontinuous forcing actions, while the actual control signals are continuous, thus limiting the mechanical stress. A Current-Based Output Feedback Sliding Mode Control for Speed Sensorless Induction Machine Drive Using Adaptive Sliding Mode Flux Observer

This paper presents a new adaptive Sliding-Mode flux observer for speed sensorless and rotor flux control of three-phase induction motor (IM) drives. The motor drive is supplied by a three-level space vector modulation (SVM) inverter. Considering the three-phase IM Equations in a stator stationary two axis reference frame, using the partial feedback linearization control and Sliding-Mode (SM) c...

Sensorless Indirect Field Oriented Control of Single-sided Linear Induction Motor With a Novel Sliding Mode MRAS Speed Estimator

This paper proposes a new sliding mode control (SMC)  based model reference adaptive system (MRAS) for sensorless indirect field oriented control (IFOC) of a single-sided linear induction motor (SLIM). The operation of MRAS speed estimators dramatically depends on adaptation mechanism. Fixed-gain PI controller is conventionally used for this purpose which may fail to estimate the speed correctl...

Iterative Tuning Feedforward Speed Estimator for Sensorless Induction Motors

For speed sensorless induction motors under field-oriented control (FOC), where the motor speed and angle are not measured, the speed control tracking bandwidth is mainly limited by the convergence rate of the state estimator. Prevailing speed-sensorless induction motors suffer significant performance degradation from removing the encoder, which limits their applications to fields requiring low...

Sensorless Fault Tolerant Control Based On Backstepping Strategy For Induction Motors

In this paper, a fault tolerant control for induction motors based on backstepping strategy is designed. The proposed approach permits to compensate both the rotor resistance variations and the load torque disturbance. Moreover, to avoid the use of speed and flux sensors, a second order sliding mode observer is used to estimate the flux and the speed. The used observer converges in a finite tim...

Evaluation of LPF and PCLPF and Development of a Novel Method to Solve DC Offset Problem in Vector Control of Induction Motors

Stator flux oriented vector control of induction motor (IM) drives for speed sensorless control has several advantages. But the application of a pure integrator for the flux estimation is difficult due to the presence of measurement noise and dc offset. To overcome these problems, some have used a programmable cascaded low pass filter (PCLPF). In this paper, it is shown that some problems still...
